So much for getting Shanda to pose with her newspaper recognition. Oh well, I hope you don't mind the nasty looking hairy arm.
This morning while attending to... uh, duties, I turned the page and was somewhat dumbstruck to see a picture of my family in the newspaper. It seems like months ago that Shanda asked me to forward a picture to the standard examiner because they chose her and Joseph as carriers of the month. Well, I wasn't prepared to see it, but it was a fun surprise anyway.
Shanda has done an excellent job and is always working hard to provide good service to her customers. We are both thrilled that Joseph began about a year ago to work and earn money for his various needs. I've also been grateful that my involvement has been more limited, the occasional sick day, and stuffing a few papers on Sunday and holidays.
We are even more pleased that Joseph has been getting himself up and out of the bed without too much prodding, and in some cases no prodding at all! He's learning some valuable lessons early in life. Joseph has wanted to see his shinning face in the paper for years now, and I thought he might faint upon not only seeing his face in the picture, but the great big bold/red letters Shanda and Joseph Richey!
I'll have to get up early tomorrow and take a picture of the hard workers in all their early morning paper-route glory and include it in this post. What do you think?

That's Awesome!
Good Job Shanda and Joseph!
Pretty cool you guys! I love the new pictures of the kids on the side of your blog. Maleah looks like a little model!
That's so awesome! I love that you are updating your blog more often, too! You guys are such great parents, and it's definitely showing through your kids!
I just notice your kids new pictures. Wow they are really growing up. Joseph looks so old and handsome. I am sure he is giving some girls a run for their money.
Joseph is at the age where that comment might cause him to fly into a fit of rage... so I cant' wait to share it with him, ;)
Also, I had a client call and ask me if my twin brother's name was Joseph. She thought that he looked a lot like me, but knew I didn't deliver papers. When I explained that it was me in the paper, but my son's name is Joseph it all made sense.
